3 Ideas for Valentine's Day Gifts for Him
Don't forget to treat the boys too!
Ladies, although we've basically claimed this holiday as our own, it really is a time to celebrate love and your relationship. It's essentially a second anniversary that we have to remember every year, or remind him about. However, guys don't always look forward to this day as much as we do since usually it means they have to break the bank for a nice dinner, maybe a movie, or some flowers, or chocolates, or perhaps another gift of some sort and there's often not much in it for him. This year, and from now on, we should do a better job of making sure they know they're appreciated too! It doesn't need to be big, because they're not expecting much, so don't worry. Let's get into it - what can we do or get for him?
*BUT, if this is your first Valentine's Day with him, talk to him about how you both want to celebrate together before getting him anything*
1. That One Special Gift - That thing he won't stop talking about
Men don't always know how to express themselves when it comes to relationships, but they sure can talk your ear off about the thing they've been wanting. As girls I often think our day-to-day wishlists are pretty extensive because we want to get a million things done in one day and we always have a million things on our mind. Guys on the other hand have a few basic needs and a few big dreams. If he hasn't been talking about needing the latest video game, or wanting to see a certain movie really badly, or really needing a watch or a certain jersey, than make an effort to ask him! Valentine's Day is the perfect timing for a much needed gift.
2. Get Crafty with Coupon Cards - That thing we always say no to
Guys sometimes ask us to do things we just don't want to do. No, not sexually. Maybe he loves sci-fi movies and you don't, so you always say you'll never watch them. Maybe he wants to go on rollercoasters with you but you hate them and you've told him that you won't ever ride one with him. Make coupon cards with colored paper and markers and write down some of the things you would be willing to do at least once that you've always said no to on each coupon card and give them all to him on Valentine's Day. OR, go to Urban Outfitter's website and buy their "Meri Meri Paper Love Tokens" for only $12 and write them all down on the blank cards in the set.
3. Hand-pick a few small gifts - Things you want to see him wear or use
I love shopping on holidays for my boyfriend Jordyn because I get to choose things that I think he would look super cute in. He dresses well, but there are definitely pieces in his wardrobe that are a bit different from the rest that were gifted from me. Buy him that shirt, or pants, or cologne, or soaps that you want him to use. It ends up being a gift for both of you!
. . .
Below you can find a few little gifts to give you some ideas as to where you can shop and what you might want to look for! I checked Zara and Urban Outfitters out to see what they had because they usually have pretty good accessories for men. Urban Outfitters actually had a $20 and under Valentine's Day gifts section! Be sure to check that out. Leave some comments if you have tips you would like to share! Thanks for reading.
