#WhatIWoreToChurch 3 + Tips on Being Classy on a Budget

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This week I thought I would share three tips on how to make an outfit under $40 look classy!

1. Don't underestimate the thrift store

I got this cream top from a thrift store called Savers.  Whenever you thrift, you want to find pieces that are unique and have lots of interesting details. As a minimalist, this top was all of those things - it is ribbed and has a unique rectangular neckline. I wanted the neckline to stand out so I paired this top with my navy high-waisted pleated trousers that I also thrifted.

2. Take good care of your clothes

No matter how much you spend on clothes, you should always take good care of them. Being willing to get clothes hemmed, taken-in, dry cleaned, or just ironed can make them look really classy even if they only cost you $5. Ironing these thrifted trousers before throwing them on made a huge difference in the quality of their appearance - thanks Daddy!

3. Your accessories don't have to be designer

The only expensive shoes I own are sneakers. Otherwise, my heels are each worth under $40 and I still get lots of compliments on them. I personally think that nude heels are a must in a classy closet. Be sure to choose a nude that you love on your skin tone!

I bought this cream crossbody bag from Poshmark - one of my favorite places to shop online. I loved the black trim and I thought it really looked like a designer bag. Sometimes when I wear this purse I add my white "pom pom keychains" as I like to call them, and it adds to the classy and cute look.
